Construction of five road (highway) tunnels, integrated in the FAIAL – SANTANA EXPRESSWAY, located between Faial and Santana, in Madeira Island, in a total length of 7,2 km. Tunnel 2, the largest one, 3,2 Km long, includes four emergency parking stations, three of them with 30 m development and the fourth one with 46 m. It has five emergency galleries, with a total length of 980 m. The excavation cross-section varies between 70 m2 and 196 m2. Excavation: 394.000 m3. Concrete: 42.400 m3.
