EPOS – Empresa Portuguesa de Obras Subterrâneas, S.A. (EPOS) once again carried out, this year, a project to promote the Development of Skills of workers assigned to Neves Corvo Mine. In the context of the partnership that the company has had with the Centro Qualifica of Almodôvar for about 13 years, 19 EPOS workers concluded, in July 2020, the jury sessions of the process of Recognition, Validation and Certification of Competencies (RVCC) at school level, having been recognized as having qualifications at the 9th and 12th grade level.
The aforementioned RVCC process, whose objectives are Professional and School Qualification, Employability and Social Responsibility, took place over 2 months, in an intensive regime, with high commitment and dedication, both of the workers and the team of trainers and technicians of the Qualifica Centre. The challenge was further increased by the constraints related to the pandemic context, but overcome with total success: in addition to recognizing the current academic skills of the workers, it will allow them to develop in the near future professional certification processes for some professional profiles, which will be an added value for them and for EPOS.
Founded in 1986, EPOS is recognised in the market for the high technology of its means of production, the quality of its works and its highly skilled professionals. In addition to Portugal, EPOS operates in six other markets – Angola, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, Peru and Venezuela – through its subsidiaries there.
