Contruction of a 213 m long mining tunnel using the NATM (New Austrian Tunneling Method). This project consisted of the interception of the existing bottom outlet tunnel of Alvito reservoir. The interception was done close to the loaded floodgate. The tunnel was carried out using drill and blast techniques, rockbolting and Shotcrete. The coating was done with a 4,5 m diameter circular metallic mould. Athe portal, a shield designed to make the connection to the floodgates, which in turn will connect to the irrigation canal, was concreted.
